The Mobile Sauna was in the Wescott neighborhood last week. These portraits were taken as people came out of the sauna. Photographs are by the wonderful Andrew Frost.

Outer Comstock neighborhood stop
During this sauna session in the Outer Comstock neighborhood conversation happened both inside and outside of the sauna. The nature of these conversations are different but equally important. Those whose curiosity was peeked by the presence of this object, but were unable or not interested in using the sauna spoke with us about the fact that they never get together and rarely see one another. These people were still came and were excited to have an excuse to hang out with their neighbors. The sauna inspired a sense of neighborliness.

Driveway Tour and Photos of the Interior
The Mobile Sauna is operational! A show room display followed by a small sauna session at the Everson Museum marked it’s first public appearance. This weekend we begin our driveway tour. We will be bringing the Mobile Sauna to driveways throughout Syracuse. Residents will receive hand delivered invitations to sauna. The mobile sauna provides an intimate and communal space for relaxation and conversation. The driveway tour, will be a forum for physical rejuvenation, healthy discourse, and neighborliness.
The aesthetic appeal of the carefully crafted interior not only provides an alluring and comfortable invitation to experience the sauna, it also inspires an environment of respect. The heat inspiring dialogue will be both honest and considerate.
